Peace, what Peace?

With all that is going on around the world, my prayers are PEACE. That is what we need around the world in every country.

P E A C E.

For some reason just saying the word, peace brings so much tranquillity. Doesn’t it? Try it! Close your eyes, take a deep breath and say it…PEACE… How did that feel?

If you didn’t feel anything, believe in your heart, then try it again…PEACE

We may feel like we can’t bring peace into the world. I mean the world is so big and we are…well…so small. But if you are a blood-bought child of God, and believe in your heart, you can speak to the mountain and it shall be moved.

I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. – Mark 11:23

Before the ascension of Jesus, he said he was giving the disciples a gift.

I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid – John 14:27

Now, we need to understand the world cannot give us peace. If you don’t believe me, look at the world right now. Where is this peace?

The peace that transcends all understanding.

Take a minute and think about the word transcends…it means to rise above to go beyond.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. – Philippian 4:6

PIN for later

There is power in your words. We all know that. God spoke things into existence. God dwells in us. So when I asked you to say the word “peace”, something should have happened. You might not see it right away, or see it at all, but you can rest assured there was a change in the atmosphere.

When the disciples were in the boat, a fierce storm came, they cried out to Jesus, “Lord, save us. We are drowning.” Kinda sounds like what is going on right now in the world. Everyone is looking for some kind of shelter. Everyone is in panic mode.

But not the believer! We stand in the boat, just like Jesus, and we rebuke the storm in Jesus’ Name! Declare it with me. “This situation that is disturbing my peace must go! Now!!!”

People will not understand why you are so calm, while there is a storm going on, but you know who’s you are.

I had a friend tell me a testimony that I would like to share with you. She was also in a storm but in her car. It was a snowstorm where she couldn’t even see the road in front of her. Feeling frightened she broke down in tears asking God to help her. She asked God to help her to just get home to her family. After she cried out, she turns back on the car and started to drive home. This friend of mine said to me, “Elizabeth, I don’t even know how I got home. There was such a peace in the car and it was like I wasn’t even driving.”

That’s the peace of God!!!

I get excited when I hear testimonies! Testimonies help us to grow in faith.

  1. Amen, I can definitely recall a time years ago when I knew I was about to get some bad and hurtful news, I cried out to God for help and when the message I was expecting came in such a peace came over me, I didn’t cry, I didn’t panic, what I felt was unexplainable I just knew it was the peace of God, it couldn’t be anything else cause it just made no sense to feel at peace at a time like that. I’ll never forget that day. So thankful for the peace God gives us🙏🤍🦋

  2. Yes amen I remember having a similar experience driving through a storm. I could not see anything, no lights, let alone the road. I pulled over, although I couldn’t really even tell what was considered pulled over because I couldn’t see and I just began to cry. I had resolved that I was going to wait out the storm but I was terrified that someone was going to hit me from behind. I prayed to God and asked Him for help and I instantly felt a compulsion to keep going. I wiped my tears and somehow I drove home even though I could not see where I was going at all. I realized when I got home that at some point fear had left me and it was replaced with a determination to make it home. I know it was the peace of God that compelled me and saw my way through the storm 🙌

  3. Only Jesus can give us true peace. As God’s children we are so privileged to have access to this peace that surpasses understanding. But we need to do our part and turn our focus on him, not on the storms around us!
