Did You Hear The News, The Good News?

Sharing the goodnews of the gospel can seem difficult at times, but it doesn’t have to be. Let’s look at the gospel together, and in the end, I will provide 5 simple sentences you can use to share the gospel.

The word Gospel actually means “Good News”.

What Exactly Is The Goodnews?

Before I can share the good news, I have to share the bad news.

God created the world and mankind with it. The first person created was Adam, which means mankind. At the end of creation, God said everything was “very good.”

Here comes the bad news…

Adam and Eve sinned by disobeying God. They ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. This sin opened a new can of worms, resulting in eternal separation from their creator, sickness, disease and death.

What does that have to do with me and you?

Good question! Because we all Adam’s offspring, we all are born with a sinful nature. Not only does this affect us, but it also affected the earth as well.

Being a good Father, God covered up their nakedness by providing them animal skin to wear, but because of their sin, they could no longer stay in the beautiful garden God made for them.

This was the first death. An animal had to die in Adam’s place.

The wages of sin is death.

Adam continued to live a long life but was separated from God. That’s what sin does, it separates us from God. That is the very same fate we have today.

No good works can restore the relationship God wants to have with us and us with Him, nor will it remove our sins. Once we sin, something has to die.

Here comes the goodnews!

God, being all-knowing and full of love, knew we couldn’t live a life without sin. He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, to die in our place.

Jesus lived a sin-free life making him a perfect candidate as the ultimate sacrifice. Jesus was the last Adam but unlike the first Adam who died, Jesus rose again on the third day overcoming death.

When we chose to give our lives to Jesus. We become a new creation. Jesus being the last Adam started a new kind of people. Not created in flesh but by the spirit. The first Adam produced only physical not spiritual offspring. Jesus produced spiritual offspring

Now that you have become part of the Kingdom of God, you live by the spirit and have eternal life. When your body dies, your spirit will continue on with God.

Providing all this information to someone that doesn’t know God will be overwhelming.

But here are the 5 sentences I promised you so you can tell the goodnews in 1 minute or less.

1) God created us to be with Him
2) Our sins separated us from God.
3) The payment to remove sin is death
4) Jesus died in our place for the payment of our sin and rose again
5) Everyone that accepts Jesus as Lord and saviour will have eternal life and you start now and it lasts forever.
